This page is dedicated to all of our past dogs who have been part of our family here at Warfenburg. These are dogs who have been retired to retirement homes or have crossed to the Rainbow Bridge.

Our Rainbow Bridge Shepherds
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Ortor's Von Orla 3-23-2003 to February 2012 Black and tan female second generation of Warfenburg German Shepherds. She was a Sheba and Ortor puppy. Orla was a half sister to Shyla and the mother of Faxon and Shera. Orla was our snake hunter, she protected the house and creek from any and every snake following in her father's footsteps. Orla is greatly missed here at Warfenburg.
Faxon Von Warfenburg December 3, 2008 to June 14, 2016 Faxon was our love and such a sweet boy. He went to join his mom, Orla, and dad, Blade, at the rainbow bridge due to unknown causes of spinal pain that was unable to be managed. Within a very short time of him showing signs of pain we had to make the hardest decision any pet owner must make. Faxon will always be missed here at Warfenburg.
February 4, 2011 to August 16, 2021 Duppy was our big beautiful black longhair boy. He blessed us with many wonderful puppies and we have been able to keep a few of his daughters to continue his lines. Duppy was a cherished member of our family and the guardian of our home. He is deeply missed and while he will never be replaced we hope that his daughters will continue his legacy.
